TPE Industries and our group of companies has been in business for almost 30 years. We are a family owned and operated business based in Western Pennsylvania. Our founder, Tom Porter started his career as a line electrician at the Volkswagen plant in New Stanton, PA. In 1988 Volkswagen closed the plant and Tom started TP Electric as a means to provide for his family and as a way to support the closing of the New Stanton Facility. From there the company embarked on a path that took us into gas and oil, power generation, steel-making, chemical production and processing, mining and aggregates as well as commercial and municipal work.
Our company has grown substantially since 1988, but we still have offices and a shop at that same New Stanton facility which later became a Sony Television plant and today houses several diverse businesses.
In 2006 Tom’s son Shawn took over as president of the company. Since then Shawn has assembled a strong team of professionals that tackle everything from multi-million dollar electrical projects to small and mid-sized jobs as well. From engineering to design, installation, construction and commissioning, TPE Industries does it all. We truly are a one stop shop for all of your electrical needs. Today we have a team of engineers, project managers, foreman, electricians, estimators and technicians available to support our customers.
Our main office is in Acme, PA which is 2 miles from the PA Turnpike at the Donegal Exit. Situated in the beautiful Laurel Highlands our offices house our team of administrators, managers, engineers and technicians. We also have a UL 508A Certified Panel Shop at the Acme location and our shop and warehouse are situated a few miles away.
TPE Industries is a Union company and we have access to many skilled craftsmen through the IBEW. In 2016 we averaged approximately 120 Journeyman electricians at any given time. Our growth is the result of our ability to treat each customer with the respect they deserve and by providing them with safe, timely, high quality work. Our success in the electrical field as well as our reputation has helped us to hire and retain highly skilled electricians and provides us with the ability to utilize only the latest technology and best equipment.
